Clearing the Air Before the New Year

Let’s lay it all out clearly: if you’re someone who’s ever betrayed my trust or brought jealousy into my life, you know who you are. I’m not naming names—insert whoever fits here—because this isn’t about just one person. If you’ve brought negativity my way, assume this is about you. I’m clearing the air before the new year and calling it all out.

So to any of you who think this might be about you—if you’ve ever been that “friend” who turned out to be jealous or brought drama into my world—consider this your shoutout. In fact, you proved my point exactly by doing the very things you claimed you wouldn’t. If the shoe fits, wear it. I’m done with it. I stand in my power, and I won’t let anyone’s jealousy bring me down.

When it comes to family dynamics, it’s not about having a picture-perfect family. It’s about understanding that sometimes being apart can actually strengthen relationships. If my child moves out or we spend time in different places, that doesn’t weaken our bond. People travel, have their own lives, and build identities outside of one role. That’s normal. My kids matter to me deeply, but they are not my sole purpose in life. I am not just a mother. I am an individual human being with agency, direction, and a life that exists outside of caretaking. If time apart, distance, or living in different places strengthens a relationship instead of weakening it, then that’s not a failure — that’s honesty. And I’m not interested in being judged by anyone who thinks a woman should erase herself to be considered a “good mom,” especially ones that are not providing stability and security for their children.

What’s ironic is that the same people who criticize these choices are often the ones trying to force dynamics that don’t exist. You cannot manufacture a nuclear family by sheer will. You can’t scream, manipulate, or guilt someone into being the parent, partner, or co-parent you want them to be. If someone doesn’t want to show up, the child will know — eventually and intuitively. And no amount of pretending changes that. Forcing it only creates resentment, chaos, and confusion.

That’s where the jealousy comes in. It’s not about morals. It’s not about values. It’s about watching someone else choose peace, autonomy, and truth — and realizing you’re trapped in a story you refuse to let go of. That’s when the projection starts. That’s when the accusations fly. And that’s when people end up doing exactly what they swore they’d never do — betraying trust, lashing out, and proving the point they were so desperate to deny.

I’ve seen this pattern enough times to recognize it immediately. I don’t chase explanations anymore. I don’t argue with projections. I don’t need to name names. Anyone who has ever felt personally attacked by my boundaries already knows why. If you read this and feel uncomfortable, defensive, or exposed — sit with that. That’s not my work to do for you.

This is me clearing the air before the new year. Calling it what it is. Choosing honesty over politeness. Growth over performative harmony. And peace over proximity.

I’m standing firm in my truth. I’m not shrinking, softening, or rewriting my reality to make anyone else feel better. The tables always turn — and when they do, I’ll be exactly where I am now: grounded, clear, and unapologetically myself.

I’m done explaining my boundaries to people who benefit from crossing them.

I’m at peace with my choices — even if you aren’t. Not everyone gets access to me anymore — and that’s intentional.

I’ve said what needed to be said. The rest is no longer mine to carry.
